THE BARANGAY BANYUHAY LOGO
barangay banyuhay-01.png

We have chosen the Balangay as the main symbol of Barangay Banyuhay. The word “barangay” can trace its roots to the “balangay” as it represents community and how our ancestors used these water transports as a major part of their life during pre-colonial times. The “balangay” was integral in Inter-island trade, fishing for sustenance, providing service, and the exploration and acquisition of new land for their people.

To run the “balangay” each person on board has an essential role to play to make every journey a success. This concept still rings true today, especially for Filipinos in the diaspora. Community and “pakikipagkapwa” is crucial so that OFWs and Filipino Migrants reach their goals. We are truly all on the same boat as we navigate our way together in order to assimilate, overcome challenges, and thrive in the countries we now call home.
