RECAP: Sabayang Pagbigkas 2024

Writer's picture: M BuadaM Buada

On its second year, Banyuhay Aotearoa successfully concluded the Sabayang Pagbigkas Online Video Contest for 2024.

We received a total of 18 entries spanning the length of Aotearoa New Zealand:

  • 3 entries from Auckland

  • 1 entry from Palmerston North

  • 1 entry from Wellington

  • 12 entries from Christchurch

Of the 18 videos we received, 1 was for the PAMILYA/BARANGAY category, and the rest are for the PAARALAN/BARKADA category.

Out of the 18 entries, we received 11 submissions from different Primary Schools, and 4 Secondary Schools. There was one school that had 2 entries in this year's contest.

It goes without saying that we were completely blown away by this year's entries. The amount of effort and care that we witnessed exceeded all our expectations, and we are endlessly amazed at what our community can produce in such a short period of time.

All the entries were showcased on our Facebook page and Youtube channel for the whole month of August.

PANEL OF JUDGES

Judging of the entries was done during this period as well. We'd like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our judges who sacrificed a significant amount of their time to provide their critiques for each entry.

Sabayang Pagbigkas is definitely coming back next year and will now be transformed into an inter-school competition.

We will be sending the official invitations in February 2025 in order to allow all participating schools a lot of time to master the contest piece and put together their video entries.

Stay tuned for more updates for next year's contest!
